Holiday Fruit Soup

Well many of you have asked for this recipe so here it is. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Drive safe for those of you traveling!

Holiday Fruit Soup
10 oranges
5 grapefruits
1 medium jar Marciano cherries
4 kiwis
1 can pineapple tidbits
2 bananas (optional)
2 cups simple syrup (recipe to follow)
Orange Juice to taste

Simple Syrup
1 ½ cups sugar
1cup water

Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Cook over med-low heat until dissolved, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool.

While syrup is cooling, cut top and bottom off of grapefruit and oranges. Remove remaining peel with a knife and segment fruit into a large bowl. Discard pith (membrane). Peel and dice kiwi then add to bowel. Add can of pineapple including juice, and drained cherries into bowel. Once syrup is cooled add to bowel. If you want more sauce with your fruit add orange juice…about 1 to 2 cups. Chill in refrigerator until ready to eat. Right before serving add sliced bananas.

*Fruit Soup can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
*If you want your soup a little more pink use some of the cherry juice...but not too much because it will turn RED!
