Sleeping Continued...

Well last night Jane went to bed at 10:30 woke up around 1, 3, and 5:30...finally went back to bed around 7 and has been sleeping for a couple of hours. I am in desperate need of help! What can I do to make this little pill sleep through the night consistently? Morgan was sleeping through the night at 6 weeks and by 4 months was sleeping 10-12 hours. Any and all advice will be much appreciated!

I don't have any advice...my 15 month old still won't sleep through the night....let Jane cry until she goes back to sleep. I've tried that with my daughter though and she screams louder and louder. Last night she threw a fit because I didn't go in and get her right away. I hope she sleeps better for you soon!!

Have you read "Baby Wise"? It was a life saver for my two kids. Camden screamed all night and slept all day until he was 3 months old...and I am not joking. By 5 months he was sleeping through the night! I have just learned you need to let them cry it out. It seems so mean, but you are actually doing her a favor. She will learn to self sooth herself. You need to do it while she is really young, because the older she gets, the more of a habit it will become= nightmare for you. Do the 3 day rule. First night will be really tough on you and Jake, the second night she will still cry, but shorter period. and by the 3rd night, only small crying or none at all. It only took 2 days for my kids. Good luck. I am so sorry.

The fact that she has slept through the night is an indicator that she is ready to do it constantly now! Just remember that. Let her cry it out! It is easier said than done for sure, but do it!

I agree with the "crying it out" method. It worked perfectly on Caden and by month three he was the best sleeper. On Abbie I decided to wait a little longer to attempt it and that backfired big time. She still is not a good sleeper and she is a year tomorrow.

Start it while they are young and be tough (it is going to suck bad).

Good luck!
