Jake and I participated in a charity 5k last Saturday called, Carin' for Karen. Our friend Lacee's mom has cancer and this was a race to raise money for her. I was going to write how I ran the whole thing, but before the race started, Jake introduced me to a friend of his, Shawn Lambert, who told me he frequents my blog. So now I have to tell the truth!
To make a long story short, I ran a total of less than a mile, made the turn early, got beat by an overweight older lady, but I did beat an even older lady with white hair. This event helped me realize what I already knew...I HATE to run. I have decided to retire from this sport and will not be looking back! The race was a lot of fun-Jake ran the first part of the race and then after he made the turn, he found me and we walked the rest of the way together. I am glad that I was able to raise money for such a wonderful lady! Good luck Karen...we wish you the best!

That's my girl! :)
Good try Kathryn, however, I was a little taken aback by the descriptions of the "older" women in the race. Thank heavens you will never see me bounding and boucing along in one of those!
hahaha!! you are funny. hope you got a picture in uniform.
This is funny! I wish I could've seen this.
Nice work, Kath. How does retirement feel?
Kristen it feels great! I could not be happier! Thanks for asking!
and no Lauren I didn't take a picture in full uniform...but I know I looked damn good..esp when I was walking!
We are totally related...except that you look FINE without running. Me on the other hand.. I have been running like crazy and I probably look more like the older women you were talking about in this post. It's maddening! I hope you guys have a great Christmas. We miss you.
