For the past 2 years we have started a new family tradition...the Holley Cup! We got the idea from one of Jake's good friends, Brady Curtis and his family. Last year for Christmas we all went bowling and Jake won the cup. He got his name engraved on the trophy(well that is what is supposed to happen, but Betsey never got around to it. One day it will happen!) and we had the privilege of keeping it in our home for the year. This year we decided to do a gingerbread(graham cracker) house contest. 2 days before the contest took place, Morgan went out into my parents garage and found a ginger bread house that was all decorated, but not put together....Richard was caught! My dad went to Michael's and bought his own ginger bread house! He also bought felt(for his putting green), random candy and decorating items. He then had 2 secretaries and an associate help him decorate his house! My dad the bishop cheated! Luckily Amanda and her mom realized this as they were judging(with a little help from the rest of us) and he was disqualified! Kendall won the coveted cup with her very own Holley Stadium. We all had a ton of fun teasing each other and putting our houses together. I love making family memories and cannot wait to see what next year's competition will be. Here is Kendall with her trophy!
*Morgan broke my Dad's house 2 days after he so lovingly put it together...my mom just laughed and said, "Leave it there so dad can see it. It serves him right!"

What a fun tradition! I probably would have cheated too...I am not good at that crafty, creative stuff.
Kathryn that looks like so much fun! I hope it was! How come we don't do stuff like that?? (Just teasing.) Anway, whenever I ask that question it seems like the answer is always "You go to England instead"...

Awesome. I always try to get my family to do gingerbread houses... so I'll keep trying. So many funny things about this
1) Richard cheating-- hilarious! He looks so proud in that picture
2) Lauren's house looks so much like a Provo condo with the garage underneath! Love it
3) I would've never thought to make the table look that cute before starting. Only the Holley's :)
4) Look at all of those water bottles. You are such a water family. Thanks to you, I've converted for life. Thanks Kath!

Lauren don't act like you were trying to make a Provo condo...just admit that for once in your life Kendall was much more creative and crafty than you were! So was Matthew, Mom, Dad, Me, and Jake..
