Jane's first time trying rice cereal...

Janie is starting to make a lot of noises...including screaming. Every time she screams she closes her eyes.

at 4 months Jane:
~is screaming and making lots of noises
~when on her back she lifts her head to look around
~loves attention
~smiles a lot
~still does not like to be out down...and cries until she is held(hopefully this changes soon)
~is not consistently sleeping through the night...this is a work in progress. I let her cry it out 2 nights ago and she cried for about an hour(i checked on her every 5, 10, or 15 min) and then she finally fell asleep after Jake went in and held her binky in her mouth. Last night she slept from 10 until 6...hopefully this will continue (fingers crossed!)
~lights up when Morgan comes around
~loves to be in her bouncy chair, not the swing
~knows her name and will turn to you when you say it
~recognizes her Mommy and Daddy
~14 lbs 13 oz

I wandered into your blog and am totally having the EXACT same sleeping problem with my baby(she's almost 4 months). Just wondering...when you let them cry it out, how do you know if they are hungry? I'm afraid to try it because I cant tell if she's just crying, or if she's hungry. Did the crying thing work for you?
they are both so cute! and she has grown a ton! come visit!!! :) (or just move here permanently)

I read in a book that at this age they wake up out of habit and not because they are hungry. The crying thing did work for me, but just to let you know it is very hard to just let them cry. I let her cry for 5 min then I go in put the binky back in her mouth, rub her face or tummy and then leave...wait 10 min then do the same thing, wait 15 min, then back to 5, 10, 15. It took Jane an hour but it worked. It might take a few days but it works I promise!
I am so glad that I read your blog! I finally braved the crying thing two nights ago, and it actually worked better than I expected. Last night was a little harder, but I think its working. Thanks for the help!
